Priorities

10/4/2025

There are a lot of things I want to do with my life. I want to make games, draw comics, compose music, and many other things. But I do not have enough time for all of them, and so I must choose. Regrettably, most of the time my choice is nothing at all, whether it be due to laziness, depression, or just plain being tired. But with my new job, I now have a somewhat stable schedule that allows me some time to get things done. So now I shall make that choice again. After much deliberation, I have decided to prioritize my goals as such:
My 1st priority is my own health and comfort. This is simply because without it I cannot do anything else, at least not reasonably well. It is for this reason that I always review Japanese flash cards after I eat dinner.
My 2nd priority is to learn Japanese. Every day, I will review Japanese flash cards and watch one (or two, if I really feel like it) episode of anime, using the subtitles to make new flash cards. (I use Anki and Memento for that.)
My 3rd priority is to make video games. This covers a variety of skills, but out of those I will focus on 3D modeling and animation for now. I am currently paying for a CG Cookie membership, so I might as well actually put it to use.
My 4th and 5th priorities (in equal measure) are making Minecraft videos (to prove they're easy to make (I'll explain more in another blog post)) and working on this website's comic. (I have made some progress, but it will take a while before I actually start drawing it because it's a long story.)
The first three are things I can work on almost every day, but the other two will probably have to be saved for the weekends. God willing, I will soon start being more productive and start actually doing something with my life. This is at least the 10th time I've said that, but still. Who knows, maybe I'll even update this website at least once a month! I also have plans to potentially make stuff with Blender and stream it on Twitch, which will hopefully motivate me further. We'll see.
